TIME SPENT
30 MINUTES

Each tassel keychain takes 30 minutes to produce, from obtaining and unraveling the naturally dyed thread, to spinning the yarn 70+ times - focusing solely on not losing count. It's a tedious process - but worth it for such cute tassels!

FEATURED TECHNIQUE
TASSEL MAKING

The tassel making process is one of the most hypnotizing techniques to watch. The artisan first untangles the thread, then wraps it around a fixed nail 70+ times. She then combs it gently to smooth any knots before tying together.

CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE
COLORS OF GUATEMALA

These specific colors were selected because they represent the vibrant Guatemalan flowers that grow naturally all around Lake Atitlan. The bright colors of Guatemala are unparalleled and come through in these keychains beautifully.
